Q1. Who are savage men? What rule do they follow?
Answer: Men who are uncivilized, cruel and violent in their behaviour are called savage men. They follow the Iron Rule.
Q2. Who are worldly men? What rule do they follow?
Answer: Men who are greed and concerned only about material things rather than spiritual in their daily life are called worldly men. They follow the Silver Rule
Q3. Who are righteous men? What rule do they follow?
Men who are god fearing, honest, pure at heart and do all that is right. They follow the Golden Rule.
Q4. What is the Iron Rule?
Answer: According to the poet, the Iron Rule is that, if someone has done something bad or evil to you, you also react in the same way and do an evil deed to that person.
Q5. What is the Silver Rule?
Answer: According to the poet, the Silver Rule is that, if your neighbour i.e. any person does something good to you, you too repay that person back by doing good to him.
Q6. What is the Golden Rule?
Answer: According to the poet, the Golden Rule is that, even if someone has done an evil deed i.e. bad deed you react and do good to him.
Q7. Why are the rules called iron, silver and golden?
Answer: Just like the value of the iron, silver and gold the poet feels that the three rules carry the same values. Just like we are attracted to golden things more than silver and iron, so also we should be attracted to the Golden Rule more than the Silver and Iron Rules.
